Steamfitters Local 601 is seeking experienced HVAC-Refrigeration/Service Technicians for their Accelerated Service Program. If you have prior HVAC-Refrigeration/Service experience and a desire to take your career to the next level, the Accelerated Service Program could be right for you!
The demand for HVAC-Refrigeration/Service Technicians with up-to-date skills has never been higher and has created additional career opportunities for individuals who possess these skills. In order to meet the market demand and assist contractors with filling their needs for experienced technicians, Steamfitters Local 601 has developed an Accelerated Service Program.
The Accelerated Service Program is a 4-week training program that offers focused, performance-based training designed to fill any gaps in knowledge or skillsets from prior years of industry experience and prepare you for success in the HVAC-Refrigeration/Service business. Trainees learn the trade through three structured training opportunities:
- Unpaid HVAC/Service Instruction (Techniques & Skillsets)
- 4 weeks, Monday-Friday
- Individuals who successfully complete this portion of the Accelerated Service Program will gain the skills to perform service, maintenance, and repair work within the manufacturing and construction industries
- 4 weeks, Monday-Friday
- On-the-Job Training (Applied Education)
- Unpaid Related Instruction (Theory & Fundamentals)
- Night School Education
- Individuals who successfully complete this portion of the Accelerated Service Program will gain the skills and status of a Building Trades Journey-level Steamfitter

Who Can Apply?
Minimum Requirements:
- 18 years of age
- High School Transcript or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
- Prior service experience within the last three years
Required Competencies:
- Demonstrate a commitment to safety
- Strong basic math and communication skills
- Ability and desire to continually learn
- Strong organizational skills with close attention to detail
